Community Youth

Community Youth Division Classes at School of Nashville Ballet offer dancers ages 8 to 18 an introduction to classical ballet training through a more flexible, less intensive structure than our Academy Division. Using the School’s foundational syllabus, these classes provide quality instruction from highly qualified faculty in a supportive environment that encourages growth and technical development.

Classes are available at beginner, intermediate, and advanced levels, with placement determined through a placement class to ensure each dancer is in the level that best suits their current experience and ability. This division is ideal for students seeking ballet training with a schedule that allows for additional activities or commitments outside of dance.

2026-2027 School Year

August 17, 2026 - May 8, 2027

Community Youth Beginner Ballet
Ages 8-12

Community Youth Beginner Ballet is designed to introduce dancers to the fundamentals of classical ballet in a fun and supportive environment. Dancers will develop coordination, foundational technique, ballet vocabulary, and a passion for movement. Students may choose how many times per week they would like to attend, making this level a flexible entry point into formal dance training.

Annual Tuition:

1x per week: $1,235 + $75 Registration Fee

2x per week: $1,975 + $75 Registration Fee

3x per week: $2525 + $75 Registration Fee

4x per week: $2965 + $75 Registration Fee


Instructional Hours per Week:

1x per week: 1.5 hours 

2x per week: 3 hours 

3x per week: 4.5 hours

4x per week: 6 hours


Payment Plan Available: 20% Down + Monthly Installments Through April


Mondays from 4:30-6:00 p.m.

Wednesdays from 4:30-6:00 p.m.

Thursdays from 5:00-6:30 p.m.

Saturdays from 12:30-2:00 p.m.

Community Youth Intermediate Ballet
Ages 8-12

Community Youth Intermediate Ballet continues the dance education of students who have completed Community Youth Beginner Ballet or a similar level of training. Dancers will expand upon the fundamentals learned in Community Youth Beginner Ballet and will continue to develop their technique, musicality, and artistry.

Ages 13-18

Community Youth Teen Intermediate Ballet continues the dance education of students who have completed Community Youth Beginner Ballet or a similar level of training. This program is specifically designed for teen dancers ages 13 through 18. Dancers will expand upon the fundamentals learned in Community Youth Beginner Ballet and will continue to develop their technique, musicality, and artistry.

Community Youth Advanced Ballet
Ages 13-18

Community Youth Advanced Ballet is for dancers with 4-5+ years of training who are preparing for pointe work. Class pace accelerates as dancers refine their technique and focus on the strength and flexibility required for pointe and more advanced vocabulary. To be in this level, dancers must attend at least two technique classes per week, with a minimum of three classes per week required to add pointe. Dancers must be approved by the instructor to go on pointe.

2x per week: $1,975 + $75 Registration Fee


Instructional Hours per Week:

2x per week: 3 hours 


*Recommended Optional Discipline:

Pointe: $435 (1 hour-long class per week)

Students enrolling in Advanced MUST take both offerings of technique below

Enrollment and Tuition Policy
School of Nashville Ballet reserves the right to cancel classes due to lack of enrollment. Cancelled classes will be prorated and refunded. Enrollment is for the entire semester. There is no proration for scheduling conflicts. Classes are not transferable to other students.
